Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of GhostOS — the GhostOS Discord bot and the GhostOS web dashboard (together, the "Service") — operated by HyperWare ("we", "us"). By adding GhostOS to a Discord server, running any of its commands, linking your Bungie.net account, or signing in to the web dashboard, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. Who can use GhostOS
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to use Discord and Bungie.net in your country. You must also follow Discord's Terms of Service and Bungie's Terms of Use, which continue to apply whenever you use GhostOS.
2. Not affiliated with Bungie or Discord
GhostOS is an independent, fan-made project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Bungie, Inc. or Discord Inc. Destiny, Destiny 2 and related names, images and game data belong to Bungie. GhostOS gets game data through Bungie's public API.
3. Linking your Bungie.net account
Some features need you to link your Bungie.net account with /link. You sign in on Bungie.net and choose to give GhostOS access; GhostOS never sees your Bungie password. Depending on what you use, GhostOS may read your profile, characters, inventory, vault, collections, triumphs and activity history, and — only when you ask it to — move, equip or change the perks, mods and subclass settings of your items (for example the vault tools, loadouts, the armor optimizer, random loadouts, the Postmaster, the Zero to Hero shop). GhostOS cannot delete, dismantle, buy or trade items, and it cannot move items between different players' accounts.
You're responsible for what you ask GhostOS to do with your account. Item moves and equips happen through Bungie's systems and can fail or be interrupted by things outside our control (for example Bungie's servers, rate limits, full inventories or items equipped elsewhere). We do our best, but we don't guarantee that any action completes, and we aren't responsible for lost time, rolls, loadouts or progress.
4. Server features
People who manage a Discord server can turn on features that post into its channels — the activity feed (raid, dungeon and exotic mission clears, first-time exotic weapons and titles earned by linked members of that server), vendor watch, looking-for-group listings and Bungie news posts. Server managers are responsible for choosing where GhostOS posts in their server.
5. Zero to Hero, coins and the shop
Zero to Hero sessions, coins and the shop are a game within GhostOS. Coins have no cash value, can't be bought, sold or transferred, and exist only inside the session that earned them. "Buying" from the shop only moves an item you already own onto your character — it never creates an item. A session's host can end or permanently delete it, which removes it for everyone in it.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use GhostOS to break the law, Discord's or Bungie's rules, or these Terms. Don't try to access other people's accounts or data, overload or attack the Service, get around its permission checks, or use it to harass anyone. We may limit, suspend or end access to GhostOS — for a player or a whole server — at any time, especially to protect the Service or other players.
7. Availability and changes
GhostOS is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". It depends on Bungie's API, Discord and our hosting providers, any of which may be unavailable or change. We may add, change, pause (for example in maintenance mode) or remove features at any time, and we may stop running the Service.
8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we provide the Service without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the fullest extent allowed by law, HyperWare is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, items, progress or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Because the Service is free, our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to US $0.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using GhostOS at any time. /unlink disconnects your Bungie.net account and deletes the data GhostOS stores about you, as described in the Privacy Policy. Server managers can remove the bot from their server at any time.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above. If you keep using GhostOS after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
